Wedding Experience at the Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico

It’s December 2025, and I’m at Fairmont Mayakoba, a place that delivers an exceptional level of service and experience, especially for couples choosing to celebrate their wedding here. And I'm here for an incredible wedding experience.

As a destination wedding photographer, I’ve had the chance to document weddings in many incredible locations. Still, places like Mexico feel special even to me. There’s something about the atmosphere, the energy, and the way people celebrate that makes it stand out every single time.

Throughout my stay, I witnessed so many unforgettable moments. It all started with a welcome get-together in a typical Mexican style. At first, the evening seemed like it might take a different turn than planned, as it rained continuously. But no one really cared, guests embraced it, celebrating all night long with amazing food and great music. One of the highlights was a traditional performance featuring a bride and groom on stilts, which seems to be a popular element of many wedding weekends here. And I completely understand why. It’s such a unique experience, especially if you’re seeing it for the first time.

Planning the actual wedding day at Fairmont Mayakoba can be surprisingly challenging, simply because there are so many beautiful options to choose from. That’s what makes a multi-day celebration here even more valuable. Spending several days on the property allows you to experience different settings and make the most of everything the resort has to offer. It’s especially interesting for couples to include nearby venues in their planning as well, since Fairmont Mayakoba shares its grounds with Rosewood Mayakoba and Banyan Tree Mayakoba. This way, you can truly combine the best of each location.

In this case, we had a beautiful lunch at Fairmont Mayakoba, including a well-prepared backup plan for bad weather, and an unforgettable main celebration at Banyan Tree Mayakoba. Everything was perfectly planned and executed by Brian Worley Productions. The main event embraced traditional Mexican wedding elements, with music, dance, and fire performances woven into the evening. The entire celebration followed the theme “The Night of the Jaguar,” creating an atmosphere that felt both immersive and powerful. It was an incredible experience for everyone involved.

To round off the wedding weekend, there was one final event: a relaxed beach party at Alila Mayakoba, which officially reopened in February 2026, but already hosted this celebration. Guests spent the day lounging by the pool, jumping into the ocean, enjoying drinks, and simply having a great time together, exactly what you’d want from a wedding weekend like this.

The beach party followed an LGBTQ theme, reflected in every detail. There was a drag show, air show guns, smoke bubbles, incredible music, and a BBQ. Creating a vibrant, joyful, and unforgettable closing to the entire celebration.
